Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – New Delhi – India’s Capital City

  • Group arrival at approx 22:00 at Delhi Indira Gandhi (IGI) International airport.
  • Tour Leader to meet and greet group at airport and transfer by private bus to hotel.

Day 2 – Delhi

After breakfast, group orientation meeting with tour leader to discuss up coming journey

  • Approx 11am – depart to Old Delhi to visit the Jama Masjid Mosque and enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through the laneways of Old Delhi spice markets
  • Afternoon visit Raj Ghat, Mahatma Ghandi’s tomb and museum
  • Lunch at Connaught Place, followed by visit to Rajpath & Delhi gate
  • Back to hotel relax
  • Evening visit to a local Sikh Gudwara temple

Day 3 – Fly to Varanasi – Holy Hindu City

  • At approx 9am transfer to Delhi domestic airport for flight to Varanasi (1.30 hrs)
  • Group pickup at Varanasi airport and transfer to hotel in Assi Ghat, overlooking the Ganges River and nextdoor to the Tiwari Travel shop. Afternoon relax at hotel
  • Evening dinner at local restaurant sampling the famous North Indian vegetarian Thali

Day 4 – Varanasi

  • Sunrise Yoga & Meditation class
  • After breakfast group to meet at Tiwari Travel shop, for guided walk along the river ghats to witness all spectacle of river life
  • Afternoon tour of silk & textile weaving showroom
  • Free rest time back at hotel
  • Evening sunset boat trip to witness the Spiritual Arti Fire Ceremony dedicated to the Mother Ganga River

Day 5  – Varanasi

  • Meet at Tiwari Travel shop for 6am sunrise boat trip on the Ganges River to witness locals bathing in the Ganges and witness the famous burning cremations
  • Cycle rickshaw tour to the explore the labyrinth of laneways in the old city
  • Afternoon cooking class at local family home. Learn to cook traditional North Indian vegetarian dishes by local women
  • Evening prepare for 7pm departure to Varanasi train station for overnight journey to Agra

Day 6 – Agra – The Taj Mahal

  • Arrive early morning Agra train station, bus transfer to hotel
  • Lunch and afternoon relaxation in the beautiful hotel grounds
  • Early evening guided walk along the banks of the Yumma River to see the Taj Mahal from the Riverside.

Day 7 – Agra

  • Sunrise entry into Taj Mahal  then back to hotel for breakfast
  • Mid morning visit to the magnificent Agra Fort
  • Back to hotel lunch rest/free time
  • Evening visit to music & jewellery showrooms

Day 8 – Jaipur – The Pink City

  • Approx 7:30am departure from Agra to Jaipur (approx 5hrs drive)
  • Stop en-route for morning tea at local chai (tea) stalls
  • Arrive check into hotel, afternoon free time relax

Day 9 – Jaipur

  • Full day sightseeing; – explore the City Palace complex, housing ancient collections of textiles, art and weaponry
  • Wander the old city bazaars with hundreds of boutique shops showcasing, handicrafts, precious stones, home-wares, textiles and blue pottery
  • Lunch at local restaurant in Old City
  • Dinner on the hotel rooftop with Rajasthani dancers

Day 10 – Jaipur

  • Drive to the outskirts of Jaipur for a half day sightseeing tour of the magnificent and ancient Amber Fort
  • Afternoon relax in the hotel, by the pool, gardens or have a massage treatment the Aruyvedic spa
  • Evening Bollywood film at the beautiful art deco Raj Mandir cinema
  • Supper at local restaurant or back at hotel after film

Day 11 – Jodphur – The Blue City

Day of travel – Depart at approx 7:30am for drive to Jodphur. (approx. 5hrs)

Day 12 – Jodhpur

  • Take a guided walk up thru the winding streets of Jodhpur to the magnificent Meherangarh Fort including a guided tour with local guide
  • Afternoon visit the beautiful Umaid Bhawan Palace, Asia’s most opulent royal abode
  • Wander the old city cobblestone streets lined with markets, bazaars and cafes

Day 13 – Udaipur – Venice of the East

  • Depart at 7:00am for drive to Udaipur (6hr drive).
  • Stop for lunch at local restaurant for another delicious Rajasthani Thali dish

Day 14 – Udaipur

  • Morning guided tour of the magnificent City Palace complex, museums & art galleries
  • Afternoon market and bazaar shopping visiting the local artists shops and cafes

Day 15  – Udaipur

  • Morning yoga class with local Indian yoga teacher followed by breakfast
  • Boat tour on Lake Pichola followed by drive up to Monsoon Palace for magnificent views of Udaipur
  • Lunch at local café/restaurant
  • Afternoon relax and pack for next morning departure

Day 16 – New Delhi

After breakfast and checkout, group transfer to Udaipur domestic airport for 1.5hr flight back to Delhi.  Transfer to Delhi international airport terminal for flights back to Australia.
