About the Retreat
This retreat is for anyone who is looking for some true relaxation and rejuvenation. No running around from place to place. Immerse in 10 glorious days of retreat, being spoilt with 3 hours of massage, morning yoga classes, organic vegetarian food, local market shopping, chatting about life, reading, facials, foot massages the list goes on. Join us for a some time to really reset your mind , body spirit in the heartland of tropical Kerala.
About Ayurvedic
AYURVEDA’ 5000-year-old medical science of India evolved from the strong cultural and philosophical background. According to the philosophy of ancient India everything in this universe is made up of five basic elements.
These five basic elements combined in different ratios and combinations to form everything in the universe. These doshas are ‘Vatha’, ‘Pitha’, and ‘Kapha’.
On this retreat each guest will find out their own personal Dosha and work to bring them into balance.
Treatments
Treatments adhere to strict Ayurveda standards. Uniform clad therapists escort the guests to the treatment rooms.
The 22 treatment rooms are airy and spacious with private patios. A treatment chart is put up in the restaurant with a complete schedule for each guest daily.
Treatments are preceded by the doctor’s consultation.

Daily Tour Itinerary
10 days of true relaxation and rejuvenation. Settle in the retreat and afterwards we will enjoy a few days exploring the tropical backwaters of Allepuzza.
Day 1 – Arrive Trivandrum International Airport, Kerala, South India
- Airport pickup and transfer to
- Dr Franklins Ayruvedic Retreat, Chowara Village
Days 2 – 7 – Ayruvedic & Yoga Retreat
This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself into a journey or preventative and post healing. All retreat guests will have their own personal health consultation.
Days 8 & 9 – Alappuzha Backwaters
After breakfast at Dr Franklins, we depart in our own private vehicle north to the area of Alappuzha famous for its lakes and backwaters. We shall stay at a local boutique property overlooking the glorious palm fringed backwaters, explore more village life, visit some temples and take a lunch cruise. A great way to end our retreat.
Day 10 – Departure
After breakfast in Allpey, we depart in our private taxi to Trivandrum International airport to connect with our flight back home.
Food
As per Ayurveda, chitta (Malayalam for adhering to lifestyle norms as described by ancient Ayurveda texts) is to be strongly followed when on treatment. This has indeed been taken seriously here.
Lunch and dinner are an elaborate buffet that consists of 2-3 varieties of soup, broken rice gruel. A selection of salads which are a fine medley of assorted vegetables and healthy dressing form the appetizers.
Accommodation
The accommodation is minimal and congruous with Ayurveda. The simple accommodation in the excellent location is indeed reason for the true Ayurveda experience.
